LOCATION
The Assembly will be held in Pabellón I of Fira de Barcelona 2, within the framework of the BcnRail Show.
Fira de Barcelona carries out a strategic role in the Catalan and Spanish economies as a platform for the economic promotion and international projection of companies. It brings together 40,500 direct and represented companies and it receives 3.5 million visitors. Fifteen of its shows are European references and figure amongst the first three of their speciality.
With their two centres, Montjuïc and Gran Vía, Fira de Barcelona has the largest exhibition surface area in Spain (365,000 gross sq m for exhibiting) and is one of the first in Europe.
The Gran Vía exhibition centre represents a significant increase in the exhibition surface area for Fira de Barcelona. Designed by the Japanese architect Toyo Ito, it is equipped with the most advanced exhibition fair technology. It currently has 200,000 square metres of exhibition space and will be extended to 240,000 square metres with the construction of two new pavilions.
The facilities are served by highly advanced infrastructures and a wide range of services.
BcnRail SHOW
The Barcelona 2009 Alamys General Assembly will be held as part of the BcnRail Show that as the International Railway Industry Show is geared towards professionals and experts from the railway sector.
The previous edition welcomed more than 7,000 visitors who were able to discover the features of the Madrid light metro, the Urbos light metro of Seville, the CIVIA local trains and the new metro from the 9000 series that will circulate, without a driver, along the future line 9 of the Barcelona metro.
TRANSFER TO THE GRAN VÍA EXHIBITION CENTRE OF FIRA DE BARCELONA
Alamys members will travel from the main hotel either by train (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat - FGC) or by a coach service that Fira de Barcelona will provide for those attending.
